How have they earned that?

Having taken some time to think about your comment, I want to take issue with your first sentence. What relationship is there between your younger self and the young people you might encounter today that makes it logical for you to project from your past to those individuals? What justifies disliking young people because you dislike aspects of the way you were at that age?

We all go through vagaries of youth, be they naïveté, cockiness, impulsiveness, brashness, bad taste and/or judgment ... it’s all part of learning and growing. Seems to me acknowledging that you, too, are human and capable of foolishness, and then moving on is a wiser course than dumping negativity on someone who hasn’t earned it and has no idea why he’s getting it.
