Thanks for all the poddy
Thanks for all the poddy love. Poddy Talk is not coming back. Frankly, it became too much of a pain in the butt for various reasons including (1) it being hard to arrange interviews and conduct them, (2) one of my interviews being destroyed when my last computer bit the dust without me having backed up, (3) someone I interviewed being an ass and pestering me on a regular basis about his interview, and (4) people taking it too darned seriously.
However, I will be resurrecting my favorite part of poddy talk as a podcast of its very own- The 60 Second Rant. It turns out that it is very hard to prepare a good, satisfying rant ahead of time and then spill it out passionately on command. Better to feel that rant rising up from the belly, and record it as it overflows from the mouth without first being thought out and self-edited. That's what a good rant is all about. It's not supposed to be a carefully-worded five-paragraph essay vocally regurgitated in the space of a minute. I just need to be inspired to record a couple of rants, put a blog up, and then start inviting rants from anyone who wants to submit them. In fact, maybe a rant about rants will be my first one. Anyway, if anyone feels particularly ranty, feel free to record it and I will shortly let you know how to get me an .mp3. Ranty rants only, though. I mean it.
I will also have a music-related podcast soon centered around an experience I had earlier this year that really inspired me. That's taking a little more work, and it's the one I have been putting together already but don't have any episodes ready to go.
I miss freeman, too. I also miss Jac who I didn't get to see before I left Arizona and whose blogging is somewhat sparse.
