I Don’t Know Whether to Laugh or Blush

My favorite Aussie, Shaun Saunders, has a new story up at Antipodean SF. It’s titled I Spy ... and he dedicated it to me. You’ll have to read it to see where the blushing might come in ... and from the looks of the direct link, once a new round of stories is up for judging, it’ll point to something other than I Spy—which means I may just have to post it here for posterity and humility’s sakes.

That won’t happen today though, ’cause I’ve a lot to do before we enjoy an evening out.

:-)

Hi Sunni - the story was inspired by one of your own postings here a year ago (it takes that long for a new story to get into circulation).

At the end of the month, whilst a new edition of AntiSF will take its place, all previous editions are squirrelled away at archives of the Australian National Library. However, you're welcome to post the story here at that time, and it is also included in my collection 'Navigating In The New World' (details on story page).

Laugh or blush? Yes, I see what you mean :-)

But as I said recently, what you do here does make a difference, and it does impact on others!

I thought it was familiar

I thought I’d read it in Navigating in the New World—which, for those other six readers, would make an excellent Christmas gift for anyone who likes short stories, particularly science fiction. These stories are shorter than the typical short story, but longer than what one reads at AntiSF ... all are meaty morsels that engage the brain. Absolutely wonderful stuff.

Forced Vaccinations...

Friends,

The weblink below tells of forced vaccination of schoolchildren in Maryland, USA, where kids were literally herded up into a courthouse and illegally and forcibly vaccinated without their or their parents' consent. Is this a democracy? Or a another example of government and state acting as paid agents of big industry?

I've said more than once in recent radio interviews about my books 'Mallcity 14' and 'Navigating in the New World' that the current reality of corporate Australia and its big brother the US of A is every bit as scary as my fiction...democracy? LOL - just forced consumption...
